Fintechs and SaaS using EEA passport
Norway is not EU but EEA via EFTA, so financial services authorised by Finanstilsynet passport into all 27 EU states plus Iceland and Liechtenstein. Aksjeselskap (AS) requires NOK 30,000 minimum capital, Foretaksregisteret handles registration in roughly 14 days, and English language banking is available at DNB and Nordea.
Holding companies with EEA and treaty subs
Norway's exemption method (fritaksmetoden) makes dividends and capital gains from qualifying EEA shareholdings and treaty country corporates effectively tax free at the holding level. Combined with no domestic WHT on interest to most counterparties and 90+ tax treaties, an AS is a credible holding wrapper.
